The Dirty Dozen and the Clean 15

When choosing fruits and vegetables to buy, many consumers wonder about buying organic or conventionally grown produce. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has developed a tool to help consumers make smarter choices when buying all of those fruits and vegetables for better health.
Called the “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean Fifteen,” the guide lists produce that either has more pesticide residue or is safer to eat when grown conventionally.
The dirty dozen is a list of 12 fruits and vegetables grown conventionally that when tested have the highest levels of pesticide residue.
The clean fifteen lists 15 fruits and vegetables that when grown conventionally have the lowest pesticide residues.
Below is the list for 2025/2026. I find that this list is helpful when shopping for my family. I hope you find it helpful as well.
